Mario Alberto Zambrano has lived in Israel, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Japan, and has danced for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater, Ballet Frankfurt, and Batsheva Dance Company. Loteria, his first novel. He has been awarded fellowships from MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, The National Endowment for the Arts, as well as Hawthornden Castle in Scotland.
