Snowmen at Night
His sisters claim that Mark Buehner learned to walk by holding a pencil. Perhaps that is why he loved drawing, even at an early age. Encouraged by his parents and teachers, he continued to study art, eventually choosing illustration as his livelihood. He is the illustrator of many children’s picture books, including, The Adventures of Taxi Dog, My Monster Mama Loves Me So, Harvey Potter’s Balloon Farm, and My Life With the Wave. His work has garnered awards from the Society of Illustrators, as well as numerous state and national awards and have been featured on Reading Rainbow and Storytime on PBS. Caralyn Buehner grew up in a family of readers, and perfected early on the art of undetected nocturnal reading. Her writing won state and national awards in her teen years, but she didn’t plan to be an author. It was Mark who encouraged her to write, and together they have collaborated on numerous books, including Fanny’s Dream, Dex, The Heart of a Hero, Snowmen at Night, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
